Outreach/Missions

Savannah Methodist Church is dedicated to service. We support missions on local, regional, and global levels.

Locally, our church collaborates with 2 organizations:

Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM): Savannah Methodist partners with CAM to provide food for families in need. Our dedicated volunteers assist in unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and distributing food to those in need.

Our Daily Bread Backpack Ministry: The Our Daily Bread Backpack Ministry supports children in Hardin County by providing essential nourishment. During the school year, our dedicated youth fill 200 backpacks each month, ensuring these children have the nutrition they need to thrive.

Regionally, our support is directed to the following organizations.

Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center: The prevention of Child abuse is a cause very dear to our Pastor and his family. Each year, our congregation supports the center with a monetary donation. Many of our members also attended fundraisers to help bring awareness to the severity of child abuse.

Department of Child Services: SMC’s Pajama Ministries supports children who enter child services. We provide pajamas, books, and stuffed animals for children who are often removed from their homes with nothing except the clothes on their backs.

Our Global efforts support these two organizations:

Samaritan’s Purse: During the Christmas season, we come together to purchase items such as socks, toothbrushes, toys, and books. These items are used to fill shoe boxes that are shipped to children in poverty-stricken areas around the world.

LaLimye Ministries (The Light): LaLimye is a children’s home in Haiti that provides love, care, and a Christian home for 10 girls. The ministry also provides food, clean water, prayer, and hope for people in one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. Lalimye began in Archai Haiti as a home for orphaned girls, it was later expanded to provide English classes, sewing classes, and a school for children with special needs. Due to the unrest in Haiti for the safety of the children they have been moved North to a safer area in Cap-Haitian.
